Your First Visit

If you're a first-time visitor to our office, you will need to give us some information about your medical history and the nature of your condition so that we can provide the best care and tailor treatment to your specific needs.

A bit of paperwork

We will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to assist you with the paperwork.

Consultation
During your first consultation with the doctor, you will discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.

History and examination
In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-rays
Your specific condition may require x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or to help us assess the most effective treatment plan for you.  After the examination the doctor will decide if x-rays are needed.

Same-day treatment
Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination is completed. This may include spinal adjustments and physical therapy.

Home instructions
You will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.

Scheduling the next appointment

The doctor will determine when your next visit should be.  During follow up visits the doctor will re-assess your condition and proceed as necessary.  We don't prescribe long term treatment plans because each condition and patient is different.  Once the problem has healed, some patients choose to have an adjustment at a set interval of time to maintain their general health and prevent problems from re-occuring. Others choose to call when they need us.
